SUMMARY: The Senior Application Systems Analyst’s role is responsible for?providing application design, reporting and support for computer application systems utilized by District Business Functions. Provides leadership in daily operation of applications and implementation of third-party upgrades. Acts as liaison between Technology/third-party vendors and functional areas.   • Provide program support and service delivery.
  • Act as liaison with business departments and campuses regarding system and environment requirements.
  • Analyze customer needs, research, recommend and implement automated solutions and enhancements to systems.
  • Provide third-tier application support and problem resolution.
  • Test and implement software updates and enhancements to ensure accuracy.
  • Compares requirements to existing systems before recommending modifications or new applications.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to customers, including support for migrations of the application into various environments.
  • Create, maintain, and update technical manuals and documentation for business processes.
  • Provide security access to application systems.
  • Review and analyze system specifications to determine whether all required elements have been included.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers, staff, and third-party vendors.
  • Keep abreast of relevant technological developments and identify training needs. Recordkeeping, Reporting, and Inventory
  • Prepares flowcharts and diagrams, as necessary, to illustrate sequence of steps of a program or job to describe logical operations involved.
  • Provide reporting and analyses for administrative applications including but not limited to student, payroll, finance, personnel, and provisioning.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
  • Document all issues, activities, and resolutions using consistent and clear language.
  • Utilize knowledgebase and suggest documentation improvements. Policy and Law
  • Perform other duties, as assigned by the immediate supervisor, Executive Director or Chief Technology Officer, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of application systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
  • Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned. _____________________________________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field Experience:
  • Five (5) years of supporting and developing computer application programs, utilizing relational databases
  • Five (5) years school district experience supporting Student/Business Information Systems (preferred)
  • Experience with SQL or T-SQL
  • Experience as a project team member
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) – (preferred) _________________________________________________________________________________________________ SPECIAL KNOWLEGDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for evaluating project needs and implementation timelines.
